Varun is an Electrical Engineering student, pursuing his degree at Georgia Institute of Technology. As an engineer aspiring to positively impact the field of rural electrification, Varun has been involved with designing and implementing various solar home systems and microgrids for remote areas. He is currently heading the design team for the IEEE PES Haiti Microgrid project, and is involved with the design of a novel solar home system at the Center for Distributed energy at Georgia Institute of Technology.
He also has previous experience with industrial energy efficiency research at the Bosch Energy Research Network, and solar EPC work at Sterling and Wilson. He has also held the position of Electrical team lead for the Georgia Tech Solar Home team, and is a member of the HKN Electrical and Computer Engineering Honor Society.
